LATEST: 11/05/2020:The Thursday Sailing series at Hofbauer powered by Boats2Sail (An der Oberen Alten Donau 186) is finally happening again.Please use the Doodle Link (https://doodle.com/poll/6zhugt55e9b5zfhe) for sign up.We have the assurance that 10 boats (pirates) for sure will be available for our club members. Please be advised that per boat only 2 people from different households or people from the same household are allowed on. Furthermore, if you have your own life vest, please wear it while sailing. If not, we urge you to borrow one of the available life vests at Boats2Sail.Deadline for signing up is the day before, Wednesday at 8pm. We are currently required to confirm the booking of the boats on Thursday morning with Boats2Sail.If you are in the end not able to attend despite signing up, please cancel on time (Wednesday @ 8pm)!The price per boat is €20 for approximately 1 hour of sailing. This is directly payable to Boats2Sail before setting foot on the boat.Due to the Corona-Virus situation, we are not allowed to linger in large groups of more than 10 people before or after sailing at the facility. Therefore, please be on time (5.30pm)! If you already have a partner to team up with, if you need one or have preferences or if you want to be put on the waiting list, please inform Melanie over Whatsapp (+43 664 1567 554).If you have any further questions, contact Melanie.04/05/2020: Now that the Austrian authorities have started to relax the lock-down restrictions, we can announce the start of this season’s Thursday Sailing at Hofbauer Sailing School.Clearly the general rules on social distancing in public places will still need to be observed so be prepared to adjust to new arrangements.The club has arranged for members to rent a limited number of the Pirat dinghies from 17.30 on Thursday 7th May. Please contact Melanie Smith in advance by Whatsapp for the details.02/04/2020: As we all know, the social distancing measures require us to postpone our traditional sailing Thursdays on the Alte Donau as well.

Everything that can be programmed is there: wind shifts and shadows, rules of racing, a perfectly square start line. Also on the plus side we have guaranteed good winds and the racing venue is very comfortable to reach from your couch.
We look forward to seeing you all on the virtual waters of Cagliari / Sardinia, our backup spot instead of Alte Donau 😉
