J70 Master Class & Sailing Boot Camp, Mallorca, April 2025
After the amazing success of the last J70 Master Class, followed by our great entry into the Austrian Sailing League, the registration for the 2025 Master Class is open!
The date is confirmed for 14 – 18 April (12 – 19 April) 2025!
This is a special training on Boat handling, communication and racing with focus on the Liga format with the J70. Our trainer and coach will be Oliver Ochse, the name of the sailing school is Sail & Surf Pollenca.
After 2 very nice visits to Mallorca in 2023 and 2024 we have in the meantime a VISC racing team of approx. 20 well trained J70 women and men. To continue building a solid racing team, we will get into more details and further improve our playbooks for the perfect start, tack, jibe, mark rounding’s as well as kite sets and drops!
Important: Also sailors who are new to the J70 class or this racing format, are very welcome! Although, you should have some minimum dinghy/keelboat experience as this is not a basic sailing course. I would describe the J70 as a keelboat that feels like a dinghy which does not capsize 🙂 If you are not sure, just contact me (visc.commodore@gmail.com or whatsapp).

We are getting a discount of 50% for the following courses in combination with apartment booking with Sail & Surf Pollenca:

In parallel, we will have a very nice time in the beautiful bay of Pollença/Mallorca, on the water, where the wind is switched on usually around 10:30, as well as in the nice restaurants and tapas bars.
Detailed information and booking procedure:
- – Course date: Monday to Friday, 14-18 April 2025 including trainer and boats, most people travel Saturday to Saturday, 12 – 19 April 2025 – to be considered for room booking
- – Capacity: We can accommodate 16 J70 sailors (plus some on the waiting list, first come first serve) to fill in the 4 available boats. An active VISC membership is required. In order for the course to take place we need minimum 12 bookings by 2nd December 2024. In case spots are available, we also accept guests with an extra fee of € 10
- – Cost is € 550 per person (includes your course with trainer and boat charter). As we are also racing, one crew per boat needs to take an insurance.
- Sail & Surf recommends the VDWS insurance “safety tool” for € 39 per year.
- – To register, please transfer your Booking Deposit in the amount of € 150 no later than 2nd December to the VISC account.

- – The final balance of € 400 shall be paid no later than 6 weeks before the course date, i.e. by 3 March 2025

- – Breakfast and or lunch will be offered for a lump sum price at the sailing school, you can decide a few weeks before the event. We will also organize a crew meeting before as well to outline the event for new participants and to answer questions.
