The VHF Marine Radio is an international open communication system and it is vital to understand the rules and correct procedures. By law any operator of a VHF marine radio or DSC equipment must be holder of an appropriate qualification. The VHF Marine Radio Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the minimum qualification on any yacht voluntarily fitted with a VHF/DSC radio. Additionally, SRC certificate is one of the minumim requirements in order to qualify to sit the RYA Yachtmaster Coastal Exam.
The RYA SRC certificate can be obtained by successfully completing an SRC exam conducted at an RYA Recognised Training Centre.
VISC together with its partner Seefunkschule Adlmanninger (RYA Recognised Training Centre in Austria) is offering a 1-day course for VISC members on Sunday, 14 October 2018. This course will entail prior online self-learning with a dedicated English language page being created especially for VISC students, and one classroom-based day of lectures/ Q&A followed by the exam (9am – 6pm, venue: 1130 Vienna). The course costs 217 EUR per person for VISC members and the exam fee for RYA is 60 GBP.
