Segelschule Hofbauer Alte Donau
This year we are pleased to bring to you our Bart’s Bash event once again in partnership with Segelschule Hofbauer powered Boats2Sail at the Alte Donau. It will take place on 12 September 2020 and will be held simultaneously with VISC Autumn Regatta.
About Bart’s Bash
Bart’s Bash is a global charitable sailing race taking place at 100’s of venues, with 1000’s of sailors in 100’s of different classes of boat around the world. Its a flagship annual event inspired by the memory of Olympic Gold and Silver medallist Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson MBE, who passionately believed that everyone should have the chance to try sailing and enjoy the many benefits that it brings. All profit made during this day will be donated to a charitable cause to support young people by providing accessible and inclusive sailing programmes.
VISC Autumn Regatta
VISC Autumn Regatta will be held at the same time. The regatta is open to VISC club members and thier guests and is suitable for both seasoned skippers and beginners. We plan to have at least 3 races depending on the wind. The first race of the day will be the Bart’s Bash race and all races will count towards the Autumn Regatta result.
10:00 – Registration
10:30 – Skippers’ briefing
11:00 – First race (Bart’s Bash race)
14:00 – End of racing and fun time
15:30 – Prize giving followed by raffle and other fundraising activities
Cost: €50 per person (at least 30% of which will go towards charity)
We will have a fleet of 14 Pirats, 2 Topper Omegas, one RS Feva and one Laser. Your entry ticket includes a Pirat and we will be auctioning off upgrades to one of the other boats on the day!
